Posted similar question over in kitesurfing thread.
Could I fit a 2016 Moses Fluente 93 cm mast in a Nobile Check-in travel bag? It's 90*48*20
I was thinking diagonally.
Then I'll make split foilboard to go in it too, and be able to check it in and bring carry on for rest of gear. I travel to kite 2-3 times a year and have opportunity to take side trips on work related trips.
My other option is the MASTER bag at 110*45*15. Mast would fit and I courage 110cm pocket board, not split..less complicated.
But can I check it in? Rules I've read are varied, but US airlines are 62" max (h+w+l) 158cm and BA is max 90cm one dimension. Lufthansa has 158cm.
So strictly, no I can't...so I think it's out..

I will let you know on Monday, my 633 with 91cm mast comes in. I’m gonna say no right now from past experiences but hopefully I’m wrong. Moses is coming out with a 81 mast in February which I plan on getting if I’m correct.

I have the bag and I don't think it will. It's tight for an 80cm Stringy mast. There isn't a lot of depth either. I was totally disappointed in the bag. the best option is a hockey bag. It has more depth and when I used it last summer I didn't get charged, though I made sure it was well under the weight limit. It fit the mast and board and plenty of kites. Good luck.

Well the Nobile mast that I have that fits in my bag is 86cm and it fits just right so I think the 81cm should work. Only difference with Moses masts is the board mount is permanently attached so that might effect packing. I'm using the Nobile check in bag btw.

I've been searching around the Internet for all kinds of bags. Closest is still the Nobile Master Travel at 110*45*15. Pretty sure the Check-in is too short.
I've been thinking that I should just build the 100cm board, and then pack my gear together and using that as a guide, build a rigid case out of Divinycell and glass fiber, 2 symmetrical halves or a bathtub with padded textile cover and using 3-4 wide straps aound the case to hold it together.
Project 522.....

TomW, a large goalie bag will fit a 120cm Groove Skate, lift wings and any length mast and lots of kites and gear. Trust me, the Nobile bags are so shallow they are not functional unless you're going to the tropics (no wetsuit, etc). I've purchased 2 of them and I bought the split. I don't mean to rag on Nobile but I'm just not a fan of the gear. You will get charged, likely, for the goalie bag. I don't get charged for a regular hockey bag as long as the weight is under their limit. There's enough depth you could fit pocket board. You could potentially fit the 93cm mast since there is a lot of depth.

There's no way the 91 Moses mast will fit, that's a confirmation. I still will give props to the Nobile check-in. I have flown on many many different airlines around the world with that bag with their Infinity split, twintip split, 2 kites and harness without any problems. No over charges or extras, it's been great. I think i'll end up getting Moses's 71cm but again since their mount and mast are one piece I'm worried about packing that up and being safe but time will tell.

Nobile should make a 15cm extension kit for the 86cm mast..

I’ve been really happy with their medium sized mast, it’s been a good compromise between travel sized and usability. They do make a longer mast as well but it won’t fit in their bags.
