Durability of current Lift foils

Postby pcloud » Sun Jan 06, 2019 12:45 pm

I know Lift products have had lots of problems in the past but how have the newer ones held up for you?

Yes,My 200 wing started to fracture within a month of riding. It was cracking horizontily behind the wings and from top front of mast cavity vertically down fuselage. They warranted it ASAP.....But I was told no more kitng on 200 wing

Interesting. So this was a 2018 wing? Were you jumping it?

I have a one-piece 110 wing from 2018, which is still the current design I think. I don’t jump it, but have had many hard groundings, and no problems yet. My spot has a sandy bottom, not sure what would happen if I hit rocky bottom at speed.

So far it has fairer better than old aluminum foil, the aluminum fuselage bent from being grounded.

I've owned the latest interation for 2 summers including the 32" and 36" masts as well as the 110, 130 and 170 wings. They are solidly built. I don't take great care of my gear and I've also had some brutal contact with rocks and it's incredible how little damage there was on the wing (small scratches). One of my masts started to get a small amount of water in it but that was after my collision and I believe I've Macgyver'd it with epoxy. They are insanely light and buttery smooth, and the buying experience was excellent.

I have had the 2017-18 110 and 150 wings for over a year. I’m pretty careful about not hitting bottom (sand), but I’m not perfect, and, so far, I’ve had no damage to the wings. I did get water in the mast (who knows why), but they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

I absolutely love their products.

LOVE. Nothing but love for Lift since they redid their foils in 2017.

Not a long time foiler, only since Sept, but the 170 I started with has been great. Occasionally run into the mud bottom in the bay, no issues. I needed to do the fix on my 28" mast for the water inside (very easy), but the 36" mast didn't need it.

Just ordered the 170fish, can't wait till the ocean water is clean to ride again (storm runoff...).

Thanks everyone for the input. So what's the wing to get for chest to head high waves? 150, 170 or 170 fish? I am 70 kg. Solid intermediate foiler. Love playing in waves.

I have a 2017 board, mast and wing and no issues. I've hit corral and bottom a few times so I've scratched my wing up pretty good, but everything is still working fine.
