I may be confused..... My understanding is that the stab provides counter lift--downward--to counter balance the upward lift of the front wing. So then, wouldn't a smaller stab require the front foot to move farther forward to balance this out?

No.

The rear stab almost always gives a bit of negative lift (downward) your are right.

This is in order to have a good easy balance when you ride, stability.
It is not to "counterweigh" the main wing lift.

So the bigger the rear wing, and the more it pulls down, the further forward you have to stand on the board, to balance it out of course, so the hydrofoil do not seek to the surface.

Thus removing the stab, OR using a smaller stab, will give you a more rear stance on the board for balance.

Didn't want to open "Moses Onda Topic Nr. X", so try to ask here, which fits a bit to agility:

Is Onda allowed to be jumped and are there real world experiences / videos of it?

I don't mean little hops, but serious impacts especially low kite back flips fully loaded and landed on the wing, which will create bad torsional forces to the fuselage connection. Any experience especially heavier rider over long time?

Thanks

Thinking about a mono onda with more forward strut conection which would also bring the board strut connection to a normal position and could make it pretty lively as actuall experiencing and experimenting with my gong stuff.

Maybe someone did 3D printing files of some different type washers for Onda rear wing ? Maybe someone will share files ? Would be great to print this smal detail. As i know ThinkerPAD program one of most popular for creating it.

To use with the Onda 633? (thread title)

Would work perfect IMO, same size stab I use with a 1200 cm2 surf wing to get a REALLY lively foil.

Currently the MS420 - is my absolute favorite but this seems a nice and a much cheaper alternative. Thx for the tip!

I tried my 633 with 325 stab. In totally flat water in a deep stillwater lagoon. I was very powered on my 7m Hyperlink. 90cm board. It was like riding a bucking bronco! I couldn't control the pitch very well at all. Came directly back in after 10 min and changed it. Won't try that again.
Size difference is huge.
