Had my first sesh on the 683 after riding the 633 for a year now. Rode both with a dwarf.
PROS
MUCH faster turning than the 633...much smaller radius at speed.... Feels WAY more loose and nimble.
Faster than the 633....not much... but a little. Definitely feel safer blazing out of a turn down wind with too much speed.
Absorbs gusts and doesnt push up on every ripple in the water...seems a much more calmer experience.
Board doesnt float on its side, it lays completely flat when I fall off...travels down wind to me MUCH faster than the 633 (on its side all the time).
Can go as slow as the 633, no problemo....setting up for a swell etc. same same... bottom turns can be HARDER as it doesnt lift as much....
Foot placement is the same...
CONS
Needs just a little more kite than the 633....not much...guessing half a kite size more?
Doesnt travel straight down wind as nicely...seems to wobble just a tad...could have been our ratty ass winds though....
Anyhow, Im very impressed....Im sticking to this for a while...will hold on to the 633 for 12-15knots of wind...anything above that its 683...

I think I'm gonna order one of these and try it out. I want something between the 633 and 590 and this seems to be the only real option.

did you find it as forgiving to gybe? I am currently on the 550 fluente set up and not gybing yet so looking for a wing to make this as easy as possible for me! I don't get flat water either so need something that will be forgiving going round in chop or rolling swell.
thanks

Having more lift at low speeds will help with that for sure bud. Had the same issue with both gybes and tacks (not to say I've nailed them, far from that
). Double Agent helped me lots but the 633 felt much easier - I've had a very limited experience with it but it's just so nice to ride! Need to get 683 for demo (
) stock in store and check it out too.

My flying switchfooting is only at 50% on my heel side at the moment....so Im not a good person to ask....
But I was able to pull one off yesterday and it does seem a tad more difficult as roll stability at extremely low speed aint as good as the 633...
whats interesting is the anhedral is less than the 633... its flatter...as far as thickness goes, its pretty close...just a little thinner.....so it makes sense that some of the roll stability would be less?

I've not ridden the 683, but went from 550 to 548 to 590 and now 633 for pretty much a whole season. The 633 is a great wing, I don’t find it difficult in chop and wavy conditions at all. If you are strapless you can move your feet around and find Google balance and relaxed stance in any conditions and bearing.
I ride in shite conditions all the time. You can slow way down if you have to. Learned flying gybes on the 550 but couldn't do a flying footswitch. Learned in 2-3 sessions on the 633 and now can hop around back and forth easily.
So I can confidentiality tell you the 633 will be easiest.
This coming season I'm going to experiment with smaller stabiliser. I'd like to have a shorter fuselage too. ( moses are you listening?)

I like this thread. I would like something to fit my surf fuselage. I have the 633 and like it a lot. I have the 590 but don't want 2 different fuselage. And the 683 uses the 483 stabilizer.

Can someone comment on weight of 683s?
I'm concerned I might end up with early, heavier version of the wing (just like earlier 633 weighed 200 grams more than current version)

I just ordered my 683 wing. I probably won't get a chance to ride it until the end of March, though. I can give a ride report then if anyone is interested. I've been riding the 590 mainly though, for comparison.
