Duotone/North hybrid have 2 size: 5.1 and 5.3
however careful to choose your hybrid because many boards on the market have the 4 holes too far forward and are not suitable for the new big wings type Onda 633 etcc

I travel 1-3 times a year to kite.

If you are bringing a surfboard, you have to pay for one extra board bag that gives you 23kg. You still have your other check in for 23kg. And carry on 5-8 kg. Total 51-53 kg.

I dispute the weight problem:
So you have a hybrid surfboard and your gear(5-2 or over hybrid surfboard) and hydrofoil. X kgs.
If I Add foilboard = 2,5 kg more. If you somehow have gone over 23kg( I don't) Move 2,5 kg from your kite gear to your other check in or your carry on.

On top of this argument, I can get a real ( lightweight) kitesurfboard plus ( lightweight) pocket hydrofoil board that is total not more than 1,5kg more than heavy hybrid surf/foil board.

Anywhere I fly in or out of Europe, if I have a board over 90cm I have to pay for " sporting equipment " and get 23kg in addition to the standard 23kg+ carry on.

I agree its easy to travel in europe as the airline policies are fairly transparent (flat fee generally for sports equipment regardless of whether its a set of golf clubs or a bike).

But for the tighter fisted of us, the weight limit is still a pain (even though I normally upgrade to the 30kg sports equipment) as inevitably you want to only take one bag per person. Once you start adding extra bags you start having to look at a bigger hire car..... and so on until the price starts to stack up.

Here you go boys.
Doesnt ding.
We only wrap a towel and tape around it to ship fed ex.
No worries.

All great response from owners and demo riders who kite and foil this shape.
Real fun in to paddlie into shoulder to head high waves.

Below shoulder high? Bolt the foil on.

Here is a video of this same plan shape board as the MICRO. The MICRO is a bit thinner than the board im riding in this video. But im 6’1 and 210 so we added 1/2 inch of volume to my board. Same outline and bottom contours though.
The board carries speed thru turns and doesnt bog in the tail (due to reverse chined rails that release the water which has flowed down the rail and is trying to flow over the tail of the deck)

We made the MICRO version of the shape in this video because there are a lot of riders in the 150 lb to 190 lb range who liked the board —but would benefit if it were a bit thinner.
Both ride very similar — but if you are over 200 and want to surf and kite and foil I recommend the thicker version like I ride.
If you are under 200 lbs definitely go with the MICRO

Ive experienced two blown out knees, a herniated disk, and a badly torn hip flexor— so I feel every bump in the ride.
But soft skin on a board kills loads of chatter— and It is noticeable and just so enjoyable to ride
Thats what its all about.... how it feels.

... I need to stop hijacking this thread.
Just havent mentioned much to forums or media and always appreciated the minds on here.
Started in 2000 on a two line wipika
So heres the last blast of shameless self promotion for CUSH. Its like explaining an alien youve seen. Theres nothing like these sticks.
Heres how the MICRO surfs. Obviously a good day anyone could get barreled. But its a fun “seaworthy and trustworthy” board and we would love to make more for guys all over to travel with.

Its real good for foiling too. Enough length to paddle. And a no brainer for tow in and wake where the skis and boats totally ding up a foilboard.

Disagree completely.
Thread specifically addresses desire for hybrid board.
Italian guy posts a nice, conventional offering and no one gives him a hard time.
Norby has a more innovative offering that addresses travel durability, ease of use, multisport function, everything asked for, and gets shit for it.
He's not named dimitri (who also deserves respect btw), nor is he pushing some highly marketed rehashed corporate junk either, guys.
It's not cool when some marketing dweeb shows up and pollutes the forum, but it sucks when you high horse riders drive away the likes of bruno legaignoux, greg drexler, most good pros, as well as unknown innovators.
Fortunately they get their inspiration offline, anyway!

Hi. Last year in Maui I had a lot of sessions with my North Hybrid 5'1 in the normal surf set up and as a foil board (with a Nobile foil). No problem at all, obviously is not comparable to a smaller dedicated foil board but I went out in the lighter days simply mounting the foil to It :D . In the video below you can see this board in action in the normal set up, the other surf board is the Duotone Pro Session 5'8.

Cheers

Carlo
