Current wing is 550x135mm
580cm²
Aspect ratio of 4.

So i've dropped the aspect ratio back to 3.75, increased the surface area 220cm², and kept a relatively thin Eppler profile.

I've gone larger surface area and lower aspect as a trail to see how much stability I'll gain V how much top end I'll lose.

Coming from much bigger wing /onda 633/ it seem small to me but i was in wrong impression that your wing original is about 800 cm2. I understand you want incremental changes from what you have now.
Do your T mastfuse still hold strong? Do you mind share production details? Wish you good luck with!

You have increased aspect ratio to 4.8 thats why I called it medium AR.

AR is span divided with mean chord.

Or simply span*span/area.

Thus 62*62/800 = 4.8

This gives you more lift than a low AR wing and less drag, but turns (initiate turns) slower.

I think it is a good compromise as you want to go fast also.

My 790 cm2 wave wing has an AR of 4.2 which is just fine.

No need to go too low AR unless you are up in huge wings over 1000 cm2, as the medium ones turn just fine, and better to have some more range which higher AR delivers

The e387 has a lot of camber and a very high sweet spot Cl around 0.7 (around 10kn of foil speed)
My guess is it get unstable above 18kn (Cl below 0.4).
A NACA 4 series might be a better choice.

Eppler 387 has loads of lift indeed, so you could be right a tad less mean camber could be better, if he want to go fast yes.

But for riding slow on a wave, and having a lively foil (small wing), it should work just dandy I would think

I used 387 as it was a recommendation on another site. I'm open to change however.

Hmmm, think 18 knots max will be a bit too slow. What do you recommend for 14 knots average 24 knots max?
