Just not the Dwarfcraft 3'6" or any of the Dwarfcraft? The one I was considering was a 4'6".

My girlfriend says that her Dwarf craft 4-6 is harder to ride on the water
For touchdown jobs etc.
She started on The red rocket fish but she loves her 4-6 dwarf craft now

Because it's damn heavy, way too wide and pretty flat. I know it could be ridden, but i also rode one of kids' foam skimboards and it rode like crap.

Dwarfcraft 3'6" is not a beginner board. Though after I rode my new 36x16" pocketboard, the 3'6" looked pretty big stepping on it again.

4'6" is pretty sufficient for learning. I like 2016 and 2019 DC versions better because of kicker. the 2017 came without the kicker and I was missing it.

Alien Air, as ugly and huge as it is, has even better nose scoop and volume and I'd say it's even better for learning.

But once you're riding - get a 3'6" or a smaller board for ease of carry, travel and comfort of riding.

I have both dwarcraft 4'6" and LF rocket. Rocket is definitely the best to learn:
- it is easier to waterstart in lighter wind,
- touchdowns are easier to recover,
- the board color makes it painless to spot when separated in choppy conditions.
Never rode galaxy board, but that hideous dark ultraviolet color blending with water makes it the worse among the three.

The Rocket is terrible IMO. Weighs 1000 lbs.

I agree that the Galaxy colour is hideous, hi viz is very important if your foil floats flat. I spray pained my old board's edge dayglow orange.

Used Galaxy. Has lots of red on the deck for visibility.

How meny of you started with a Galaxy board?

I started on a 4'6" Dwarfcraft. It worked well for me (80 kg), so I assume it would work for you. Bigger boards are heavier & bulky which is not helpful. I'm not sure what to say about "pearling" - my crashes (from a full-length mast) were so violent, there's no way a board with more scoop would have made any differences. Not sure how much of a factor this is for a more experienced rider?

With regard to micro boards: obviously they are fun for turning & playing around ... how well do they work for faster foiling?

I really loved the Rocket Fish. It handled any touchdown (and there were lots) and it was really comfortable. I now ride a Kanaha and Groove Skate but still look at the Rocket Fish with fondness. If you are near New England I will sell you mine cheap.
