If you are in Europe - check Tarifa Foil Boards ,Rift boards - making pretty good race boards.

is there a reason the finish on some of these raceboards are so.......sloppy?
are we supposed to finish it at home or something?

i was very underwhelmed on the finish job on a camet board..

Yes there is, the finish does not matter at all, well, it is actually lowering performance so avoided by all means.

So as scraped as possible, no colours no thick coating, just low weight, stiff, and matte surface on the foil - that is what matters.

It has been like that ever since the windsurf formula boards and kitesurf formula boards, and now kitefoil raceboards :thumb:

Maybe not pretty, but doesnt matter when you know what matters, and to the eye of most who like performance, they ARE pretty when totally scraped down to the bare essentials :D

A problem if you are not racing full on, but for some reason want a raceboard - then you might not like this look

Still you can get pretty decent finishings on TFB, Hidro, Temavento, pretty decent considering what Peter said above.

i did not know that...and now i know.

however it is...interesting... this tradition/thinking of 'performance must come at the expense of appearance' thing.

performance cars, performance boats, planes....
hell, even track outfits and shoes for the olympic games...do not seem to have this problem if making things performace "presentable"

luca's foils are gorgeous....and fast too
it would be nice if boardmakers can started a new tradition of performance boards....that look actually look like more than 10 mins was spent making it.

The new CHUBANGA V2 foil (Wing) is amazing. Any way what do I know about Foiling and racing since it is not my department
All I know is that every foiler I race with can't believe how fast I am on the new v2 Chubanga wing. Can't wait to see the new V3 luca is working on :thumb:

Hello elguapo,
Most race boards (Winsurfing and Foil boards) have a rough look to them just to give an edge and to be lighter on the water. The less they put on the boards, the lighter they will be. I love my new CAMET race boards. :thumb:
