Aaah, okay, perfect when hood river - on the pic it looked like a small lake, my mistake sorry
2 degree celcius water is what we have here too in Denmark, lots of riders out - so as others say, it can be done quite easy.
Peter
It's usually not windy here in the winter anyway, so not much kiting. When the wind starts again in the spring, people will be out in pretty cold water, but not as many as the summer when it's warm. Right now the wind meter is reading 4 knots. A few days ago people were snow kiting on the beach in about 10 knots, but that doesn't happen very often.
From the north or south, the river looks a lot like a lake, you have to look east or west to notice how long it is

Do you know weight of 683s wing please?
I weighed all my stuff for comparison:
Front Wings
683S: 950g
590 : 515g
550 : 345g
Stabilizers
483: 215g
330: 115g
225: 130g
Fuselages
Surf 749: 900g
Kite 647: 640g
Complete assembly
749/683S/483: 2105g
647/550/330: 1120g
So, the lightest kite setup I have is 1kg lighter than the surf setup I have. Running with the 590 wing on the kite
setup (like I have usually been) would 170g over the lightweight kite setup.

BLIMEY, I weighed my 683 wing that was delivered instead of the correct 683s,
it only weighed 665g.
my 683s is "winging" its way to me right now so will weigh that as soon as it arrives.

Interesting. I’ve got different results:
590/647/330 1315g
Old 633/749/483 2180g
New 633/749/483 1815g

Interesting. My 683S then is closer to "old" 633. While I'd like it to be lighter, maybe the heavier weight will me it sinks and the foil floats mast down instead of on it's side, which I'd prefer. I haven't put it in the water yet.
