I've been kite foiling for 8 months and can consistently do toeside and heelside turns. Changing feet on the water is still only a 60% success rate. I ride a Shinn P foil which is great for learning. I weigh 63 kgs only and are now looking for my next foil for carving on flat water. I rode a friend's Moses 683(?) which was very stable but I could not turn it. Too big for me I think. Can anyone suggest a good carving foil for a lightweight like me who flies 8m and 5m surf kites? I'm 64 years old and not interested in breaking the sound barrier. Thanks in advance.

Try the 633 or the 590

One bloke (72 @ 75kg but far from strong or an aggressive kiter) to another old bloke.
I have the 683 Moses on 71cm mast and it is super carvy. I bought it following experience on many foils and the 683 is super smooth, forgiving, turns/piviots/carves with ease and smooth up onto the foil.
I have foiled on it in wind from 7kn to 25kn.
I suggest you give it another go as I doubt you will do better even at 63kg

Seems I stutter or have the shakes as an old bloke .
Sorry for double post.
Or as an old bloke it might help reading my comments twice.
My level of humor.

Thanks Wazza, I'm on a 90cm mast since it's pretty choppy here on Botany Bay, Sydney. Yes, the 683 is incredibly stable, I'll try it again in lighter winds. I was trimmed right in last time.

Jonsey foils there on a 633 with a 9m foil kite- some would say a nice guy. Hit him up for a ride as it was he who got me onto a Moses and not sorry.

I would get a lower AR wing sized around 800, max 1000 cm2 for your weight.
Personally I use the 800 more than my 1200, because it is more fun and a lot more agile of course, especially as you seem to ride more in flat water than me, then the really big ones becomes boring IMO.
And a 1000 cm2 is the same as a 1200 for the average weights - and a 1200 is of course fine for some for surf, but for many it is too big for overall easy riding and fun in general.
Weight (rider) means everything indeed, besides personal preferences

It was Jonseys board I was riding. I'm sure he moved up to a bigger foil!! But I may be wrong. He, with respect, weighs twice as much as me
. I'll pick his brain a bit more next time I see him.
