Slingshot dwarfcraft 4'6 or Alien air for beginner?

Hello. Im looking for a foil board to compliment an onda 633 to learn and progress. Im an experienced kiter 13 years and can ride a strapless surfboard. Im interested in either of the above boards. Does anyone have experience of them?

Liquid Force Galaxy is a much better board and very beginner friendly

I started a few years ago with an Alien Air. The main thing with it is that it has a large deck area, nice and wide. It is not particularly light, and this helps to dampen out some of the foil movement when you are just starting out, in comparison the Dwarfcraft will make the same foil feel much more lively. Alien will help with your initial touchdown gybes and foot switches.
For sure you can learn with the Dwarfcraft, and i am sure there are many that have, but the Alien Air will make learning easier, and you will eventually sell it and have a more informed opinion on your next board ie, race or freeride.

I would go with the DC4'6. I learned on it and 2 years later still like it. You'll outgrow the AA very quickly I think. The DC is a great strapless board as well if you eventually go down that track. The AA is harder to waterstart strapless as it is wider with more volume.

I started with a DW 4'6". It was big enough IMO. As soon as you are up on the foil you are working on controlling the foil. I would say after a couple of hours practice actually foiling, you may just as well be on the smaller board.

Both are big enough and Alien Air while being a weird shaped board has better nose scoop rocker.
Alien Air might be easier to learn on but DC is prettier. After half a season you'd be able to go on 42" DC so either of above two boards would be too big.

Light wind? I don't have the experience yet, but in marginal wind does the bigger DC not offer the security of more floatation should you be forced to paddle in?

I would take paddling out of the equation, nothing paddles great when dragging a wet kite, and both boards have float, to keep you bobbing instead of sinking.
The 4’6” is big enough,and a big wing like 633 will give you plenty of feel.
The alien air is quite heavy and the length isnt needed in my opinion.
Ive ridden both and the dc with a big wing is a great beginner setup in my opinion. Could try to find something lighter, but lightness = $$$ and you might as well save those for your next upgrade.
You may end up wanting another board in six momths or a year either way if you really focus on foiling.

Thanks for the input guys it's looking like the dwarf craft then as I'd like to take straps off asap .
