Hi lightwind, strutless Gong is very good and Cloud kites are excellent even from 5 to 6kns on 32m race lines for maximum benefit at my 76kg.

I have a 12m Storm Voyager 3 and I can get the kite to roll up onto it's wing tip in around 8kts but it's hard to not let it fall back on it's trailing edge without a strut to hold it up a bit .

The low wing relaunch is harder with strutless but the trade-off is they are lighter and therefore less likely to fall out of the sky during lulls. Pilot error is a different story of course.

That’s what I had in mind. If the kite stays in the air during lulls then is all good. I read that gong strutless is flying all the way down to 5 knots. If you drop any LEI kite in 6-8 knots it’s almost impossible to relaunch it, strutless or not.

My impression is that Gong Strutless flyes in less wind than Storm Voyager.

What was the lowest wind you were flying Gong?

I've flown and hydrofoiled with the 12m Gong strutless in 8 knots

Hi, do you think it could go lower. What wing size you were on?

Thanks

I was on a Liquid Force Impulse 24" surf/kite wing.

It might go lower in a good steady breeze, when you get down below 8 knots you know how the lulls can be the killer

What’s about Gong 12 ‘s weight? Is it difficult for water-launching in 8 knots?
