I would say is as difficult to relaunch in 8 knots as any other LW kite. Once the kite is wet you pretty much lose any advantage you may have had with a light weight design, and now you have a kite with no struts sitting in the water. It will relaunch, just takes a bit of practice to get the canopy to fill with air.
