I did ask them. They have a super friendly service.
A complete Slingshot package including mast, plate and Adapter is just 200 $...
So it´s easier to get the package.
Good deal, by the way.
I spoke to guys, they said they make adapters themselves so why not extending line of adapters to support Cabrinha masts. Obviously M6 holes are static related to the fuselage insert portion, but other pair can be moved as necessary.Foil wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 5:11 amlooking at the adaptor I dont think it can be altered in any way, the wall thickness between the 8mm bolt holes for the mast and the 6mm fuse holes run closely together, so enlarging the holes looks nigh impossible,
making a new adaptor will be needed imo,
it is though a very neat bit of kit, not something I could knock up in my garage, that's for sure
It’s from a different source. CNC. Aluminum alloy
very confusing as a newby to foiling. Can you explain to me why a few riders are telling me that 70 cm mast is good for wave riding if it bottoming out luke that?Foil wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 7:47 pmUsed the 2019 slingshot mast with this adaptor today in strong winds, my buddy was on a 4.5mtr / 70kg, and I was on my smallest kite a 6mtr reo /90kg, 633 wing.
water shape was wind chop with short spaced waves moving fast,
this showed up the limitations of the 74cm mast,
it was too short to relax and enjoy the conditions to the full, I did get better at controlling my behaviour to suit the mast and chop, but at times it was very limiting, speed was held back a lot, carves had to be well planned, and I had to hit each wave with the bottom of my board to ensure I did not fly out the other side through fresh air.
But I cant complain too much, as the session was still good in the shallow water,
I did find out that the best way to start off in the shallows was to start on toeside as this kept foot pressure light as I popped up on a kite loop, this gave me the confidence to go in close to shore around waist deep and enjoy the waves that jack up close in.
after discovering this way of getting up with ease in shallow water I ordered a longer slingshot mast as soon as I got back to my car, the 36inch, still shorter than my regular 101 mast, but it should work well.
I now have full confidence in this cheap 2019 slingshot mast with adaptor, to be honest apart from the weight when under my arm walking to the water I can't tell any difference to my carbon Moses when on the water, its smooth as silk, no hum, and can be thrown around the corners and waves like a mad thing, and the bonus is the board never sits on it side.good job as some of my wipe outs involved great superman impressions landing a long way down wind.
looking quality in the new black and gold helps raise a smile as well.
Ive been foiling 3 years on 93cm mast: never tried a shorter mast. Friends that have, say its not making any difference in feel on the wave. What it does do, it allows you to go into shallower water and get into more waves. at our spots, windwaves build an break in shallow water. Having used the 93 the whole time, i cant imagine going shorter- I´m still having to pay attention to altitude and angles when carving so as not to ventilate.richy-c wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 10:18 amvery confusing as a newby to foiling.
