The boards are huge and thick! The wing is in your face? Two hands required?
Maybe a slight upgrade to windsurfers, but a huge downgrade for kitesurfers.
Let me know when I can ride my 3'6 x 17 x 1.8 3kg kite foil board with one of these wings in light winds. Looking 10 years in the future I dont see this ever being possible.
This isn’t for you. I feel it’s a totally different sensation for people who have wind swell, it feels like you are a bird with a wing, and I kite hydrofoil too so I know the different sensation. Or it’s the feeling of endless powder snowboarding. No lines and no mast and no paddle is really nice. It’s just totally different. Kite foiling is great too, and this won’t be for lots of people but a lot of comments really don’t seem to understand this is just different, and a super fun thing to do too. Maybe try it, and then decide you don’t like it though too :) remember when people thought SUP was never going to be fun and they were wrong

One can't deny humans inventing pleasure in virtually every activity. Would you insist that flying single line toy kite is not fun? And toy kites outsell power kites by what, factor of 1000?

I am an avid kitefoiler. I have to say that surf foiling looks just amazingly fun. Find small, or crappy waves/swell that nobody else wants, but are fantastic for foil, great exercise, being on-foil: win-win-win.

IMO the Duotone wing looks quite efficient.

It could be interesting to compare the production 5m Duotone wing with a 4.6m Kitewing to see what their advantages are - especially if used to sail upwind to catch another wave. Kitewing seem to have some association with Ezzy Sails, so they could probably make a version of the 4.6m that would be useable on water. The frame is carbon and a few small mods might make it into a water version.
The Kitewing has obvious disadvantages on the water, but it might be a useful standard for comparison for how efficient a particular inflatable wing is?

The kitewing is awesome and is really the original in my opinion, but it’s is heavy and so I don’t think it took off on the water because it wasn’t inflatable
