I watched w/ amusement as someone attempted to use this type of wing a couple weeks ago. It was not successful.
Able to stand, but every time they attempted to use the wing to generate power; it looked like the wing-tip dipped to low & essentially ran over it w/ the board.

The wing is a nice shape for a kite. I have always wanted a dihedral kite so it would self stabilize on slack lines.
Did you miss Naish Helix? Seriously, unlike traditional LEI this wing can be tethered on 3 lines. Center power line attached to the wing some bridle over the central strut, and two steering lines at the wingtips. A twist in the story would be splitting the leading edge into two at the center (separate bladders connected by "one-pump" hose). Now, a wing rider would be able to flap the wings much like the birds do. Give over mono-wing, enter the duo-wing!

Not at all. Those style of kites didn't have dihedral nor could they stay flying with slack lines. They were also typical naish and built like windsurfing gear, which meant heavy, which meant poor flying. Lucky some paragliding guys got into kiting or we may only have such terrible options.

I think it is silly to try to market these wings to kitesurfers/windsurfers. We already have the power, speed, light wind, and carving advantages.
For SUPers though I can see it working out. Many SUPers I know don't kite due the "dangers" , gear setup annoyance, and high cost and this "extreme" sport.
These "grab and go" wings fit this easy and quick attitude. A gold mine for resorts.
