Regarding super big kites, just like with other kite disciplines and also other sports things go to extremes before they go back to normal. Question is were is the limit?

oh wow,
they did finally release this?
since it is public now...
i have an early prototype if anyone wants it.
it's probably priceless...i mean.. owning it probably means instant gold medals/magazine covers/celebrity status/sex with 2 women..at the same time.
...but i'll consider giving it away to someone that could truly appreciate it (is a bit too fast for my chinese surf foil clones)

simply PM your CC with the max amount you want me to charge you
obliviously the more zeros the more i know you're serious and you really care about glory for your country.

I get the impression that you guys are talking about draggy and slow lower ar foilkites instead of recent 21m race kites.

Those are agile and have a huge windrange, although the gap between the 21 and 18 is minimal.
True, they are surprisingly agile. Gunnar posted a video recently of him jibing (with downloop) on 12m lines with 21m r1v3.

To the other comments about turning speed though, it is not important for racing. You never "sine" the kite in racing on foil kites.

Common problem with short lines is having to turn your head around to see whole kite. Something like sitting in first row of movie theater. Greed to shorten lines came from marketing departments trying to capitalize on shipping more line sets and it contributed to several big losses in hydrofoil pro tour already. Also World Sailing continuously promotes short lines and eventually have foil wings attached to the mast to prove sailing DNA of our sport

Propel length is defined by ability to observe whole wing while looking at the wing center.
