Also, what size mast is preferred for beginners? The one I'm looking at comes with 65 and 85cm lengths. Should I also consider a 40cm for learning?

40cm is good only for session #1. Then it becomes useless.

Theres a guy on here using his 40 cm mast on the Lagoon at Mauritius he says its awesome in shallow flat water even when more advanced

I rode 41cm last June in OBX and it’s fun to ride in knee deep water, until you fall at speed

I enjoy my DAs. I have the 135 and 145. I use all different lengths of masts (40" to 14"). Most people usually get used to one size and don't like switching though. The short masts require much more leg action in chop and don't let you lay the board over to "edge." But fun in shallow water, without the worries of hitting stuff on the bottom.

*I use the DA boards with other foils.

It’ll be a good set for you to learn on and at your weight it would be quite lightwind setup, relieving you from that need of getting the 13-15m lightwind kite you were asking about.
There are couple of things that will drive you to replace setup after a year for something more refined:
- some of double agent foils were quite noisy when ridden
- the board is large and you’d want a pocket board after a year or so.

Consider it a temporary setup which will be good for beginning

I bought a 2019 DA in the 135cm size in January. I initially bought the 85cm mast as part for the package but later bought a 40cm mast. Few points I have learned.... 40cm masts are hard to find at times but are very handy for learning as you can stay close to shore. It is a beginner set up so you will grow out of it. I think I would also consider a gong set up as you can upgrade parts easily. The final thing is that the skim board can be a whole lot of fun too, I have really enjoyed using it without the foil. Somedays I switch from my TT to the DA without the foil just for fun mid-session.

Overall, I am very happy with the DA. If I was to get serious into foiling I might consider upgrading but at the moment I will just continue to learn on the DA.

I am curious to know if anyone has tried it to see how it compares to the DA

Gregory. Not sure what you mean about "old blue one". I'm looking at a 2018 model with a 60 and 85cm mast. Not sure what it would be worth second hand though.

I meant older version which comes in blue color.

The new hi-rise double agent comes in black/grey and appears to be made way better and would last you well beyond learning phase.

Flew one once, that was enough!
Slow, draggy, heavy, and funny not so stable?
But that was older model maybe not the same I hope now?
I feel Sling shot STRUT selection great and MUCH better overall set up.
Yes still heavy but flies well.
As for shorter STRUT, IMHO ONLY reason is shallow H2O! and MAYBE first sessions.
But if that is your case go 4 it!

Not true, 2018 Double Agent is an amazing foil for freeride and having a fun an relaxed ride, perfect for learning all the basic maneuvers and to carry it arround to extend your rideable days.
2019 model is completelly different from 2018, 2 wings available, Lift and Speed, If you ask me, the build on the 2019 if more refined, fut the 2018 wing is superior as an all rouder.

To make a quick sumary, get the 2018 with the 135 Board, i'd go directly for the 85cm mast, as the shorter ones will become obsolete after a couple sessions, and enjoy your foil ride
