As I have sailed for many many miles on Lake Como I can offer a little bit of advice,
As you will know if you are currently using Como for sailing your Ttip, the wind is not constant, often the gusts come out of nowhere and knock you for six, and the next moment your in an area where the wind disappears for a few minutes,
This is where you really need to think about gear choice as with a foil board you will flying off to all corners of the lake, something you can't do on your Trip,
And this may be why so many local foil surfers use Foil kites, as they have a huge range and tend to stay up out of the water, with experience will relanch easily when dropped,
I don't use Foil kites but I certainly would if I lived there,
A short 70cm mast will serve you well for many many months, as the water surface is rarely challenging,
A big wing set and a bit of volume in the board will help as you will find yourself sailing into no wind zones often and then trying to start off in very low wind areas,
It's one of the things you quickly learn on lake Como, even twin tips are better on the large size so you glide better when the wind drops, I have never seen so many flysurfer doors in use by the guys on Como,
