What are the differences between the Contra Dacron or cloth and Bladder thickness and other material differences between the AV8 and Contra please?
All the kites have the same cloth and bladder materials.

I'm not sure why you think that's stupid. Their other kites sound like a motorbike, a knife, a company that makes movie graphics, a homeless man, and a Central American conflict from the 80's, but one named after flying is stupid?
It's stupid because of the way they spell it.
If they called the kite "Aviate" I would have no complaints.
Calling it "AV8" is dumb on a few different levels.
To top is off they have a colour change from "AV" to "8" on top of that.

Who cares about the name!?

I've spend some time on this foil and it's amazing. Super stiff, fast, and stable. If you like boosting, riding fast and in complete control , you should seriously consider this setup. In my opinion, it's the best production foil on the market.
As for the kite, it's similar to the old Velocity , which worked great for foiling.

I'll just leave this here for those of you who don't think "AV8" sounds cool...

Thanks Cab driver. Do you know how the kite is therefore lighter than current models in the Cabrinha range?

Did anybody compare this foil to any good racing machine?

Cab Driver, would you please?
- what is a weight of the foil and board? My guess is 2,8kg for the foil and 3,0kg for the board.
- how does look the pro box adaptor for the rails? what is the price?
- AR 6.4 for racing. I would expect rather 7+

I like that titanium screws are used and in a proper size of M6. A torx is much better than allen type.
So far I am delighted with titanium screws. Why are they not popular in the industry?

Employing Dr.George was a great move by Cabrinha IMO. I keep fingers crossed for the project.

I have the newest model Delta hydrofoil and compared to a Sword2 or Spotz2 there's no comparison. Way way way easier to ride and more stable. The weights you site there are spot-on for his custom model, I'd imagine it's either the same or potentially less for the AV8 because they're using prepreg and big fancy molds to get the resin ratios perfect, which likely means fewer materials in the finished product.

My BS indicator tends to go off when a major kite brand brings out a foil range. There's lots rhetoric but the end result is usually a bit disappointing.

I have to say the AV8 foil is ticking all my boxes.
- all carbon sandwich
- titanium fittings
- tuttle mast connection
- one piece fuselage and wings
- reasonably high performance specs (actually providing specs is a big plus too)

I could be very interested: if it turns out as good as it could be, and a demo is available, and the price is not off the scale, and dealing with the Cabrinha shop is not a pain.

What a shame ...

It is 13 years ago I had and used first generation Cabrinha bow kites for short time, which have been great, even if bow concept as we know was no Cabrinha inovation.

Relating to foilboards 3 years ago we have seen Cabrinha jumping on the bandwagon late with a basic, total out of date product ... well and now:

We see Cabrinha having their first relevant foil which is as everybody informed knows from George / Delta Hydrofoils, who is not named in their commercials as the designer, as other sticker producing companies do at least...

And on top,
two videos which show one hand that cabrinha seems to have not even one rider able to do a full flying foil manouver and on very top a video about a "boosting" kite which only boosting like jump is one only "jump" shown in 5 different views, taking biggest part of the video, and is in fact a pull up ... which is not shown. :angryfire:

Why the hell should I buy from such a company?

The only reason could be that they can sell the Delta Foil with the Cab. sticker for a lower price, but even here I would always prefer to pay 20% more and being able to talk to someone who has an idea of the sport and not just producing stickers and fake videos.
