Remora Sucktion Foil Mount

Postby myerscouse » Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:27 pm

Hi All
It is pretty much a year ago since I came to the forum for your thoughts on my idea, and prototypes I had made for my own use. A suction foil mount that enabled me to attatch my foil to all of my existing boards. Anyway, encouraged by your positive response and fellow foilers at the beach..Kiters,SUP'ers,Surfers etc I have now produced a unique product that solves all the problems I had with wanting to use a variety of my existing boards with my Hydrofoil. So, here it is...hoping it may solve a few of your attatchment problems to
Thanks for your support

400 EUROS :o
from their site,
"Does the Remora cause excess drag?
No. The extra drag caused by Remora is not noticeable. Drag exponentially increases with speed. Your board and Remora will be clear of the water and foiling before any speed is reached where drag may become an issue."

Sorry but for lowind take offs there WILL be much more drag and leash also!

"If your foil is impacted at speed, the Remora is designed to release from your board, minimising the chance of any damage."
Sounds like a C Y A statement?
Sure hope leash works well!

Not hating just informing.
Buyer beware.

sounds like a great idea to me, though i doubt i'd use it for kiting. for SUP, windsurf, or surf boards, yes. the fact they recommend using a leash tells me this thing has, and will, come off. i just wonder how often and easily that happens. would think it'd be safer with non-kiting apps, i.e., mellower conditions. and the cost seems reasonable given the alternative of buying lots of different boards just to get a foil insert, and not destroying any just to temporarily try a foil out on one. :thumb:

I think, the foilmount with the 3m Patches is a more reasonable Price and seems better suited.
Does anybody have Long term experiences with the foilmount System for kiting. In the ad, it seems really strong, but it is just an ad...

The leash is piece of mind.
With this sort of thing I’d rather have the leash and have the suction pads let go before the bottom layer of board let’s go.
The Remora fits a gap in the market not try’s to cover the whole spectrum.

Use a buoyant foil and you won't need the leash 8)
