Those are some great suggestions. Would I be better off on the NF2 wing or H2. Yes - for those of you who said it was me I can accept that. Thanks for the encouragement

For learning - on H2, or bigger H1, or even bigger H4, or even bigger infinity 76
The NF2 standard is H5 wing and it needs more speed to fly and it has higher stall speed compared to above. You can learn on it as well but overall you’d need more speed and will experience more porpoising when riding near stall speed.

It was only the knowledge that I knew thousands of people were making it work that kept me going until that magic day when it clicked!
That was what kept me going too :thumb:

This is a great post for beginners generally.

The only thing I would change is that I think it is safer for beginners to use a front hook instead of a strap. Yes, the lines can get caught in the hook, but I think that is less risky than the risk of ankle injury with a front strap.
Good point :thumb: the AA is a pretty big board though, can't imagine it'd be too good for the hooks' life span  How about a unibrow strap?

3 years ago... I was on here and wondering if it was possible. You veterans kept answering my questions, like Op.
I would have given up without you guys. Thanks.
I took 4hrs privat lessons in Holbox, Mexico. At that point I couldn't even get up onto the board. It was key turning point. An expert who gave me important advice, and positive reinforcement.

Learned to surface foil. I repeat, this is really important: learn to surface foil first. Then gradual lift off, and back to surface. Do not try to fly and maintain flight.

Then the whole faceplanting stage...You guys got me through it.

Keep at it.
Foiling is mind blowing.

Alien Air and Space Skate here, watched the Progression Series on foiling. best invest and riding off the Foil was one of the Most valuable tips for the beginning. One Front strap was easy and Secure for ne, only Used it for Starting the big AA, then placing the foot only slightly in the strap. After 3 hours i was doing flying 180ies. AA and Space Skate is easy Mode ;)
