It's interesting how many freeride foilers are getting away with smaller kite sizes now. A year ago I bought 8m and 12m Souls. Now I have a 683s wing and a bit more skill and I wish I went for a 6m / 10m combo...

I just ordered the new 6m Peter Lynn nova so see how that goes!!

I used to ride Slash, now Neo for surfkiting and sometimes foiling. OK but too heavy for foiling.

Got Boxers and really liked them in 10 and 8m.

Tried a few big foil kites but didn't like it.

Tried a CA Wave 8,5, best drifting kite ever but the low-end was not confortable for me.

Now I bought a second hand cloud D in 6,2 to give it a go and I can tell you this is the best kite I ever tried for foiling. I can get going in 14 knots on a big wing with my 120kg with all the advantages of riding a small kite. Also so light it behaves good in the lulls and great drift.
Found a 10,4 and a 4,8 to go with it, there are on the way

So Cloud D 10,4 / 6,2 / 4,8 like BWD :D

3.7m Cloud
4.8m Cloud
8.0m Cloud

If only one kite - 4.8m Cloud
Probably the same with a change:
Clouds
4.8
6.2
8.0

Please let me have one more so I can go to The Gorge (3.7)

For snowkiting:
Soul 21
Soul 18
Soul 12

We have light wind and deep powder in the winter. 👍

For the water:
Soul 21
Soul 12
Soul 8

I am new to Hydrofoiling, so these are twintip sizes.

Well, after 15 years of kiting it is hard to get exciting about one particular model. They all ride the same to me, or, at least, good windy conditions make much more of the difference than a particular kite brand/model. Therefore, I would just go for the lowest fire sale I could see on the web.

I'm with you. If I had to buy a new quiver my fantasy would be:

3m
5m
7m
9m

2007/8 Best Waroo and I would purchase them each for $50 doesn't matter if they hold air. I would be so stoked to get a full quiver for hydrofoil/surf for $200. It's possible as well. And sure, if anyone has some they'd like to get rid of, pm me.

for now
13 mtr ozone chrono V3 ultralight
8mtr ozone reo V4
6mtr ozone reo V4.

in 12 months
11mtr ozone chrono V3 ultralight
7mtr ozone chrono V3 ultralight
6mtr ozone reo V4.

at the moment I would fear the sketchy launch and landings with any sort of foil kite in very gusty very strong winds,
so would go with the small reo.
the 6 seems to handle up to 40mph gusty winds without any drama,a 5 might work better,l but the lulls would make starts hard work.
my assumptions on a micro size foil in crazy winds is based on no experience, just fear of the unknown.

So far I’m surprised by how different these all are. There are only a couple of quivers listed that you could swap between the people who picked them and still have something pretty close to the original. Foil’s current quiver is fairly close to mine. There are a couple similar quivers of clouds. Not much else is interchangeable at all.

3.7m Cloud
4.8m Cloud
8.0m Cloud

If only one kite - 4.8m Cloud
Almost exactly for me too. I'd go clouds all the way but i prefer to build a quiver around the goto kite and not skip sizes.
Prefer right size for the best / most frequent conditions to total range coverage. Can also extend the range quite a bit on both sides by riding different wings.
1 kite - 4.8 cloud
2 kites - 3.7, 4.8 clouds
3 kites - 3.7, 4.8, 6.2
4 kites - 2.8 - 6.2
5 kites - 2.8 - 8 cloud, or skip the 8 and get a 9m foil kite.
6 kites - 2.8 - 8 cloud, ~11m foil kite, maybe one more foil kite instead of the 8.
