Stopper Ball and Foiling

Postby NYKiter » Sun Jun 23, 2019 3:02 am

Anyone using this regularly?
I tried it today but things seem to get rather scary when gusts came through...any advice on using this when foiling?

I cut the stopper ball off of both of my bars. Much better for foiling IMO.

stopper ball on the depower line?
only use it to hold the bar in fingertip reach after spinning the bar back.
too scary to lock down on a foil board using a foil kite.
only one device that was more scary, the old north mini loop which locked the bar in really close in, that was mad.

I use it now and then.

Great to lock the kite so not fully on its frontlines every time you let go of the bar, as it drifts better this way.

So you can have fun riding waves no hands on the bar for as long as you can, if you get the kite "parked" correctly for starters.

Not that long for me ha haa, but still fun, and you can reach the bar faster and dont change behaviour so just a slight pull or push to correct can be done.
This would NOT be possible if bar was all out on the depower, here you can get in a risky situation when grabbing the bar again.

Also fun sometimes in flat water or chop, to see how long you can foil no hands on the bar, and here some slight power is needed as opposed to in waves, so apart from having the kite hang much better, you get some power too

PS: Also easier to take fun shots like this a few days ago, the yellow duck on the nose is in control now :naughty:

I have the same problem with the new bar from Flysurfer.. :(
It is so annoying that the kite depowers completely when you unspin the bar / lines..

So looking for a stopper solution.. thin covered depowerline (double) with safety line.. easy adjustable stopper with push through possibility.. also easy to mount would be nice..
suggestions?

It's practically impossible to get a stopper for a covered line, ocean rodeo do one but not sure if you can buy it.

I have a Naish cruiser stopper for my fusion bar now as I noticed Kevin Langerie retrofit his torque BTB bar recently. For dual 4mm line.

Anyone know of a stopper that can be easily removed with one hand while riding?
Seems like all of them require two hands - one to hold the bar and the other to push it up on the line....by the time you do this your already out of control as the gust is on you....its either on or off
