New hydrofoil / wave kite and bar: Kauper-XT

Postby Sbrinckman » Sun Jul 14, 2019 8:15 pm

Anyone has seen or tried these kites? Good price, low weight, almost single strut, nice clean bar.

That bar looks potentially dangerous. If the depower rope gets wrapped around the bar it could disable the primary release if there is not enough space to deploy it, leaving you option except completely releasing your kite.

True. In theory this could happen. Bar fully pulled in and than have the depower rope wrapped. But isn't this A: highly unlikely? And B: Although an ('industry standard') release like the ironheart would be deployable, it would still fail to depower the kite..

So tell me which bar QR would effectively kill the kite in the depower rope wrap scenario?

I like this bar design.. clever back line trim system.

everything can and will happen.
Had it too already. But didn't have to release luckily...but if all bad comes together, would be nice to know it works...

clever back line trim system.
yes, looks great !

But, what about the safety leash?

You release and the kite ... flies away?

That's 2002. And a potential killer for downwind riding people... @SilkeGorldt

Ah, ok, my bad.
Now I see how it works. So there goes an inside line thru the depower rope.

And the Wichard as last release...eight in front of you.

Clean and simple design 👍🏻
