I really dont know what you guys are talking about.
Been using the Wichard for two years and got 0 acciedental releases.
Fin it much more convenient thanm other systems as i only need one for all 4 bars i use with it
@juanpasala good for you 😊
Just because one person does not experience a problem, it doesn't mean others don't have it. I have both had and seen accidental releases with the wichard, and hence trying to find a solution that makes it more reliable to me. It can be certain uses and conditions are more prevalent among some people, but it is also very possible to have slight variations in production tolerances which give different results for different users. Hope you can understand there are different experiences around.

The opposite is valid as well.

Any release can open. Any. It is just a matter probability. Any kite line can snap, and yet, we still using them and not a 5mm rope - to be safe ;)

True that any release can open. That's the reason they are used. But if I would get some accidential releases I would loose trust in my gear and just move on. The probability that the wichard opens accidentialy is very high. IMO it's just a outdated heavy design that was not designed for kitesurfing.

The SKshapes ClickClick Pin is stainless steel. The red part that you need to push for release is aluminium.

Here a video which shows the harness attachement:

I just got the chance to try my new SK Shapes click click, amazing piece of equipment, it spins like nothing else on the market. Only downside is that you might pinch your finger if you try to reconnect the system with one hand by squeezing the aluminum β€œlever” (red part will go up and down pinching your finger). Price is in line with all other brands CL.
Drop an email, Stan will answer quickly!

Does anybody know what is the harness bar that is shown in the video? I would like one.
Thanks

The first one shown is a Mystic Stealth. I got one a month ago, totally love it. There's both a rope version and a hook version. Recommend getting at least the medium size if you're doing the rope. Tried both the medium and small, and while the small gave me a slightly more snug fit, the rope on it was just too short to be worthwhile.

Is the SK ClickClick compatible with the Kauper Pintxo bar? If not then it should be moved to a different thread (it should probably be in its own thread anyway). Not a lot of point raving about a superior quick release on this thread if it cannot be used with the bar.

I had quite a lot of trouble with the Wichard in the early 2000s. It would release during body dragging.

The self releasing probably had more to do with the home made release toggles we used. I have had no accidental releases using the webbing tab supplied with the Pintxo bar.

Even if accidental releases are not happening, the fact that it could means the system has a problem. Rainier has released a fix that works by adding the ball quick release to the Wichard.

It should be compatible with every bar. If not you just have to change or adapt the depower line or safety line. No rocket sience. Agree that the SK clickclick deserves it's own thread.

Here is the clickclick howto mount to your bar video:
