FOIL BETTER - A one strut inflatable with features unique to foiling.

Specialized Series grows again.

It’s been a while since we introduced a new product under the Specialized Series banner, our line of highly focused, single-purpose gear. We’ll never add a product to this line unless we can make something special. Extraordinary. For the select few who appreciate the finest, laser-focused gear. The new XLITE ticks all the boxes and answers the call for a dedicated, high-performance foil kite. A no compromise, all in, one strut inflatable with features unique to the niche discipline of foiling.

A tailor-made foil kite.

One of foiling’s defining attributes is the ability to #gokiting when traditional kiters can’t. Hydrofoils are so efficient that they need a special kite to maximize performance. XLITE, an offspring from the Nexus and Section kites, went through a comprehensive lightweighting program which shed an honest 20% in weight. It’s true! Foiling the XLITE in 8-10 knots has never been easier!

The devil is in the details.

Mass reduction isn't easy. So, we experimented with new leading edge materials, new bridles, and one strut designs. After exhaustive R&D, our designers zeroed in on CoreTex for the canopy and new ExoTex Light for the leading edge. CoreTex adds support and power to the one strut canopy. ExoTex Light brings similar strength as our current ExoTex leading edge dacron yet is more than 10% lighter. We developed thinner, anti-snag bridles that further reduce weight and improve water relaunching. No detail was too small to lightweight. In the end, we hit our 20% mass reduction target. And we're super happy about that!

The power of the Nexus and the drift of the Section.

The XLITE’s design genus is inspired by our wave phenom, the Section, and our multi-talented Nexus. The XLITE benefits from the Section’s drifting skills in waves. Yes! The XLITE is wave ready! Send the XLITE, and you’ll feel that Nexus power in super light winds. Enough juice that allows you to size down. And we increased the canopy’s aspect ratio (higher than the Section), so the kite stays ahead of your foil. With perfect kite balance and super direct bar feel, the XLITE makes learning new moves a blast!

CORE’s new Sensor 2S Pro Foil bar lights up any foilboard.

SLE foil kites are sensitive to heavy kite lines that sag and affect steering. To maximize your XLITE's performance, we recommend our new mid-sized bar (39/45cm) Sensor 2S Pro Foil. Wow, long name! The new bar comes with an all carbon design and super adjustable lines that are 20% thinner. Thinner lines reduce drag and improve water relaunching in marginal conditions. The foil bar comes with 22m Tectanium (16m+2m+4m) lines rated for 300+kg. Additional 3m extensions are found in the bar bag for those who prefer longer lines.

Exactly, my thoughts as well. It's great when manufacturers show the weight of their products on their sites, ie. Slingshot on their surfboards and Duotone on their kites, but praising abt the lightness of the kites and then not publishing the numbers, is not that great...

Nice entry to competition in foiling kites!

The chickenloop on the “foil bar” makes it “not a foil bar”. Bad joke or lack of observation/engineering skills. Why even bother...

Oh wait...it’s a Pro foil bar. Must be some foil pros riding with chickenloop and a hook.

yeah.. funny name for the bar.. To me it implies that it could be used for pro racing.
I guess they are completely out of touch with what foiling pros are using... (no CL, no floaties, no PU tubing, long depower rope and the list goes on)
The kite seems to be ok for freeride/freestyle on foil. Does not look like a race kite, so why bother with thinner lines?
Do they really produce too much drag at speeds this kite is flying?

Very true, it seems many brands have found it matters to show the weights, as we all know weight is not EVERYTHING, some kites just hang a lot better than others, even if heavier, and they are of course a lot tougher.

Ozone (Alpha) does it, but they are extremely light (and not much reinforcement so that is the tradeoff) so makes sense for them.

But I like how others in the normal midrange also does it now, like this: https://takoon.com/collections/all/products/one-light

Pardon my curiosity, what discipline? it is year 2019 outside and Core has slipped terribly behind major and minor brands in producing anything foil-related, which in the meantime became the mainstream.

Until now I knew for sure that freeride foiling needs fast turning, easy-relaunching, well drifting, lightweight kite. Oh yes, one with a standard inflate nozzle. The only "special" about foiling is the 9m is pretty big and it doesn't need to boost but otherwise it's about same as wave or beginners kite and can substitute for those just fine.

Maybe guys are too busy making "LW" version of every kite. But maybe they should pay someone who doesn't smoke too much and can sign NDA and assess products and ads in process of design/making/release. I hope Core employs German engineers who are telling marketing dept now "told you so" (about the bar specifically)

Well, I guess there is a BIG difference in what YOU EXPERTS believe...and what happens to be the real life... ;)
The teamriders deliver big time in the video...so I guess their developers might know what is needed to get out a decent product.

I will never get it... so much negativity here, buy what ever floats YOUR boat!

Yeah...my favorite brand is also behind.

The real life is visiting any foil race and looking at the bars or reading through 84 pages of "Chicken Loop Bye Bye?" thread which started in 2014 and is full of ideas and is "the reality"
Reality is allowing BRM to get ahead of big brands by years. Reality is producing yearly releases of huge foilboards when people pay $850 for a 37" piece of glass-wrapped foam from Hawaii.

I want Core to produce something excellent so others move and I, as consumer get a chance to buy something for 1/3 of Core price (but better). I want competition to flourish so I can choose from great gear and not be locked into having to make my own

Nice kite though!

That is not a foil kite, and it's quite meh given what other brands are doing.

What's with the bar, is it a German sex toy?
