I'm wondering if anyone has purchased a helmet with a metal face guard
and where you purchased it? Anything in US? And anything to consider?

I'm female with a fairly small head :-D.

Thanks in advance
Good Idea , using a helmet with a face-guard !! :thumb:

There is a bunch to choose from , on the Hockey helmet, Google search :

https://www.google.com/search?q=hockey+ ... e&ie=UTF-8

I see some , with lots of holes , for water drainage ;Good luck, to Ya !

Bille
Thanks!!

Thanks. Since football season starting soon, I'd fit right in...might just look like I took a wrong turn to the field. :D
Funny,

I quit using the hockey helmet with face guard a while ago, but it was nice to have the protection. Unfortunatley, I was a bit late with it and was not really crashing enough to justify it. Any one have crashes at a intermediate level of experience to justify continued use?

My plan is to make my hockey/hydrofoil helmet my new water helmet without the face guard when my Protec "ace wake" finally gives out. I mean, how much more protection could you noggin need than a hockey helmet? And why in the heck is a hockey helmet lower profile than a wakeboarding helmet?

I think there is always a risk especially if you foil at speed. Probably much less so if you are just floating about :)

not necessarily...
my son got a nasty throat cut from the front wing, messing around with a low speed duck tack.

Looks like a stabilizer or high aspect Wing would go through that cut out in the face guard.
