Hi Guys,
after lot of research finally ordered 633 wing as my low end kiting option but really confused about the best stabilizer to go with as 483 and 450 are available but no clear differences...or I haven't googled enough...also people use 330 and 325 but Moses site says these are not compatible with surf fuse..
So what I intend to use this setup ...mainly foiling in less than 15 knots on bay chop (no proper waves) and shallow water spots with a slingshot mast, kites any one of R1 V2 10m, soul 15, Reo 8 , mono 12 (not sure which one will suit, thinking R1 as its the lightest )..I'd be keen to learn boosting on foil ...and just light wind fun...
so if you can only have one stabilizer which one, or i should consider 2 but these things are not cheap .
Shopping for Moses stuff is so confusing as too many options but Moses doesn't provide enough info
Thanks

Any Moses rear stabilizer will work on the surf fuselage.
The 483 is standard with the 633. I would imagine that the 450 would give more directional stability.

483 is more “balanced” one, but is more prone to wingtip damage and is an older model. 450 needs a 2 degree shim to keep feet in same position as with 483 and is 50 gram heavier than 483
Having had both I kept 450

now I am a bit confused.
Which way did you have to move the mast if you did not want to use the 2 degree shim?
forward to backward . . . does the 450 cause more front foot pressure or less if used in the same place but without the shim?

Without shim you’d need to move the mast back or stance forward by 1-2”
450 causes more front foot pressure if used in same place without shim

not sure how that fits in with the blurb from Moses
"Compared to the 483 stabilizer, the 450
reduces felt lift slightly"

I don’t know how they meant it. They might be plain wrong. See below posts

The 483 stab works excellent. Why would you want to change it?

483 has winglets turned down and riding shallows they get damaged pretty fast.
Also going from 749/483 to 710/450 allowed having more compact set which fits into a foil pouch while 483 will not
And last thing - I prefer to ride new gear and I won’t hold on the old models unless they’re unique in some way.

I think personal preference Tom.
Totally agree that the 483 works well . . . I was wondering why, when I had the setup dialled in, that I would look further but I am pleased that I did.
All depends what you are looking for . . . like what do you want the foil setup to do better.
