Yes, this has been discussed a lot before. Peter is correct in many of his points from a THEORETICAL point of view. But practically speaking, a big board is just not going to be used that much if you have a big foil. If you are out on your KS37 in 8-10 knots and a hull of 4-5 knots hits, would it be better to have a large board. Yes, but you can't switch boards out in the water. So are you always going to use a big board because you fear the potential lulls? No. And remember, the original question was 8-10 knots.

I have no idea about the theoretical aspects of this, I am only talking about practical usage here :thumb:

So if 8-9 knots, I would never use my smallest board, but take one a tad bigger, because of all the advantages.

In 10 knots we are talking 8-9 m2 LEI wind, so a totally different world than 8-9 knots where bigger kites are used.

Australian based, so you might be best off asking on seabreaze mate.

Here is a picture of a pointy (sharper nose) board from the "small low volume foil board" seabrease thread.

I will try to build 110 cm strapless board to use it with Onda.
Please help with advice where to put inserts for Onda and what is your recomendation for board thickness between 20-30mm?

Thank you in advance :)

sure thing.

i did receive a kahana shape's macho pro board for comparison.. is easy to see why people rave about horacio and his boards.
at less that 83cm ..its only a few cm longer than my wing...and fits easily in a standard sized wheeled duffel.
perfect rocker... i have to backloop to start strapless but once on foil i love the ride and responsiveness of board.
...oh and it weighs less than 4 pounds. :o

Hi all. I make TheCarbonCo boards.
They have gone up a bit in price but they are still pretty affordable.
Made in Australia - shipped wherever

They are all PVC core
Glass/carbon construciton
Bright, fun and custom colour schemes
Awesome to ride and tough.

Shapes from 85cm upto 150cm.

Stoked to see my boards popping up on here.

Mast inserts should be set up with rear inserts about 70-100 mm from tail.
30mm at tail tapering to 20mm at nose is good. 100mm nose rocker that is going fairly far back, a so called banana rocker.
I'm talking about a strapless board.

i had a few trips now with the TheCarbonCo board...
is pretty nice.
well made.. thicker (and easier for me to kide) than a kahana.. and those extra few cms are helpful keeping a large surf wing controlled at speed.

doesnt squeak or anything when putting stess on it (which is weird to me)

it also fits (snugly) in a rolling duffle bag..
it. a quiver of peak4s. a soul. helmet. harness and impact vest are barely pushing 40 pounds.

is a keeper.

i have a macho pro for sale if anyone's interested.
not sure if it's board #1 but it is an original from maui and was previously owned by the drexlers (of BRM cloud videos)
(just pm)

Yeah mate

You would be charged as hell to ship anything as one off from AU.

The EU is now pretty closed for outside EU, with customs on VAT at.al.

Good luck
