Also, what does this mean striaght off the gong large pro foil page:

"Size L of an area (projected) of 1227cm2 (1360cm2 extrados developed)".

What is developed and projected? I thought it would just be a straight cm2 area of the foil?

Can anyone enlighten me?
One is the surface area of the shadow of the wing with the sun straight above etc... The other is the surface area of the wing itself.

Just my personal thoughts.

I believe projected area is comparable with other brands area measurements.

From my own calculations...I might be wrong..
The surf M is 1243cm2. 70cm
The Surf pro M is a bit more than 1000cm2. 69cm
The Surf Pro L is around. 1200cm2 77cm
The Surf pro XL is around. 1880cm2 92cm
The kite frontwing. 712cm2 65cm
The kite frontwing small. ..? 60cm

Surf stabs 40, 45, 55 cm
Kite stabs 40, 45 cm
All wings and stabs have fixed angle.

This means you have 3 freeride options (not sure Gong sees it that way) and 2 small wing options for kiting. The surfwing pro XL is a bit big for kiting or?

All surfwings works with the surf fuselage
The kitewings works with the kite fuselage.
The pro versions are thinner and faster.

I hope I got it right.. And i also hope that Gong will be more clear when they present their range of foils and how you can use them. Good quality and finish. Strong but not the lightest build.

Projected is what you see from the top if you draw a line around the foil. Developed would be if you peeled the skin off the foil (just the top half of it in that case)

Aheeem, with the relatively low anhedral/dihedral angles on all kitefoil wings, projected and surface area is so close, that it makes no sense to try to distinguish.

Many other parameters means so much more.

For kites it is a different case, as C kites and "Bow" kites, and foil kites, are 3 different leagues in terms of projected versus surface area

It's a pretty confusing presentation. It took me a lot of going backwards & forwards through the web pages to figure it out. If I've got it right:

The Kite Foil Free Wave uses the Pro M wing. The Surfoil & the Freestyle (on the kitefoil page) use the Classic wings. You can only see the other size "Pro" wings on the Surf or SUP page ... which seems a bit odd, as the Pro wings would seem to make the most sense for kiting as they are thinner & faster. It would seem to me that the obvious wing choice for kiting would be the Pro M & Pro L.

Does anyone have any idea what the overall weight of the foils would be - the Kite Foil Free Wave in particular?
