Old BRM C2s

Postby NYKiter » Mon Sep 02, 2019 3:56 pm

Picked up a few used clouds...finding the drift phenom on these old kites (only ones I can afford).

Running 23m lines

The upwind and reach bar pressure appears to be super heavy - any advice?

I loved the C2's. What size kites did you buy and what's your weight? There is no work around. The wind rage is limited (on the D's too) and you use them in their ideal range and it's awesome. Get over-powered and they can punish. if you have the BRM connection moving a knot closer to your body makes a huge difference if you're on the cusp of their range.

Yes, this is exactly what Im experiencing....just a hair overpowered and it goes to sh*t.

I got a 5.5 and an 8.5

I think the E series is another animal all together...

It seems by the sizes, you got the C.5 model. They are much better than c2’s

Give them a chance. They are pretty good for foiling. They are very sensitive to unequal lines. Make sure your lines are equal.

Yeah, something sounds out-of-tune. I've been on Clouds for 3 years exclusively and "punishing" could not be further from reality. Maybe it's because I'm %99 foil riding?
Double check your bar & lines for equal lengths. If that's equal maybe your bridles have been jury-rigged.

Cloud kites do not like being over sheeted as the power is chocked easily and bar pressure will be higher.
Make sure the back lines are not pulling the back wing tips down excessively, ie much less than other kites

Also I fly my Clouds on 27 to 32m race lines which improves the wind range.
8m Cloud at my 76kg is good from 10kn.
