Would the monofoil not be the optimum foil for waveriding?
Its efficient, turns on a dime, would jump/land well, minimum weight.

Oyvind doesn't seem to be much interested in wave riding.

Here's mine own personal “state of the art” on this. Other people are already doing cooler things, but this is a new sport and I still feel fairly close to the "cutting edge" at this level:

btw, if i could do exactly that...on waves just like those...every single day for the rest of my lfe.
...i'd be perfectly content.

That is not wave riding...OMG......thats just hydrofoiling straight down the line......make some turns......and why such a small board....no advantages at all :D ....except getting it on the airplane

I agree actually - a sweet wave indeed, beautiful - but no full turns, which (for me) is what it is all about.

Think it would be better if wind was side-onshore instead, so you could make roundhouse cutbacks almost both ways on the wave :rollgrin:

Looks like a great set up for some nice slow cruising. Must be great fun but that is far from "state of the art wave kite foiling". Need some turns. Turns on waves are easier front side for most people.
