Lift 200 for kiting

I would think it depends somewhat on the width and volume of the board, but my 170 on a low volume pocket board will sit on its side for a long time. If there is no wind propping it up or it doesn't land perfectly side lying it eventually drops flat.

As to build, Have been riding the 170 pretty hard, no straps, lots of airs tho and it's a really nice piece of kit.

Thanks all for the input. I know Lift has had issues in the past but my current set-up has held up well to my use and abuse. I ride strapless so don't do any airs. Just enjoy the carve...

I'll see if I can demo or swap for a 200 while in Maui next month. Looking forward to wave foilingl

Late answer, but it might help. I own a 110 and a 170 and lately I only use the later, I love it. It is a similar feeling to the Moses 633, but way looser. I have the surf 170, because it breaks in two parts and is easier for traveling. I don’t think you need anything bigger than that, the 200 might be too big. My light wind setup is 9m and 170, the only days I rig a 12m is when I am prepared to swim back (below 8 kts).

As others have mentioned, I think the Lift 200 is too large for kitesurfing. However, the 170 is great for larger riders & the 150 works well for lighter riders. At 205lbs, I am using the 170 Classic wing and love it. Also, Lift's newer carbon fiber masts/struts are really really nice compared to their older masts.
Has anyone compared the Lift Classic 170 to their new Surf 170 wing for kitesurfing?

MHL/Lift numbers indicate wing area in sq.in.

Googled, and it seems they use square inches for the names, so:

Lift 150 is 970 cm2 in area.
Lift 170 is 1100 cm2 in area.
Lift 200 is 1290 cm2 in area.

Thus, if not a thick/slow profile, even the 200 should work for surfing for many, especially heavier riders IMO.

What is the span/AR, anybody who knows?

AR of 170 is 3.4. The 200 has AR of 3.6
