Wing size for wave foiling

What size wing are you using to wave foil?

Does it make a difference wind swell vs. breakers?

I’m using 800 or 1100. My decision is based mostly on wave speed. Larger waves move faster and the smaller wing is less likely to get over powered.

I find the opposite to be true. My 1050cm wing is a bit slower and more stable. It handles anything with ease.

My 800cm wing is higher aspect and a bit faster. It tends to race away from me when dropping in to steep waves.

Agree, in bigger waves, the big wings are better as you dont get out of control, like a smaller wing that will just accelerate till you end up in smithereens in a crash eventually, or ride under the kite in the bottom turn ha haa.

Whereas in smaller waves where it is not only about the waves, I find medium wings a lot more fun, as the big ones are kinda boring.

But this might be extremely personally, so maybe no consensus here

No, the KOOL1200 surf wing in bigger waves

WaveXL otherwise.

Kruiser I use in the lowest wind as it has by far the most lift, and upwind angle too.
