In the example I gave, there was definitely a bit more wind further out. Probably enough to foil with a larger foil & a foil kite, but no way to get going & get out to the wind line with a kitefoil. The windfoil allowed him to pump/slog out to the wind line & then get going. It was a bit of an eye-opener to me about the new possibilities for low wind on a windsurfer/foil combo.

I bet you mean sail board hydro foiling?
NOT wind foiling as not descriptive enough, and not wind surf foiling unless done in waves!
Words have specific definitions, why not use them correctly? :?:

Standard nomenclature :

Windsurfing on a hydrofoil = Windfoil

Wingsurfing on a hydrofoil = Wingfoil

Kitesurfing on a hydrofoil = Kitefoil

Surfing on a hydrofoil = Surffoil

SUP surfing on a hydrofoil = SUPfoil
