I included the hours for the “nerds”, therefore my 152hrs over 105 sessions means my average session was ~1.5hrs with an average distance of 35km. I’m never that lucky to have multiple sessions in a single day.

I was curious to know if there was a better logging platform other than Strava?

Still so many definitions of "sessions".

Is it simply kite days no matter how many spots you have been to? YES YOU GOT IT :thumb:

Is it times one has been to the water and rigged up, and down and left again? Meaning sometimes several times a day same or different spots.NO

Is it times one changes kite and/or board, going ashore landing and rigging another kite or changing board(s)? NO

Is it simply times one enters the water also after a break, meaning can be many times a day even with the same kite and board? NO

So depending on which of above one uses, the "number" of sessions can be say a factor 3 or 10 or 20 apart depending on the individual :naughty: NO

I just scrolled through my woo logs: 172 sessions (or days on the water, as I don't post multiple sessions on the same day, i just concatenate them)
There were a few skunks but still enough to post at least a few jumps.
average duration is probably an hour to hour and a half.
about 80% involve riding both TT and HF. The rest is "stong/gusty TT only" sessions or "too low for TT" foiling sessions..
I am still hoping to log 1 or 2 before the end of the year, although the weather is not cooperating lately...

The worst year in my life of kiting, but...

38 sessions
361 new tricks (during 30 sessions)

2020 can only get better!
Well i'm sure you still had a lot of fun being out there but yes that is not even an average of 1 day per week yearly of 52 sessions

Let's say that there were 312 days kiteable a year and we were able to not miss one of them that would mean 6 days on average per week kiting

5.5 avg = 286
5.0 avg = 260
4.5 avg = 234
4.0 avg = 208
3.5 avg = 182
3.0 avg = 156
2.5 avg = 130
2.0 avg = 104
1.5 avg = 78
1.0 avg = 52
0.5 avg = 26

I count days with old school method wall calendar pen to paper...not sessions because i rarely do two...99% is late afternoon only
The weather probably is changing in some locations to give less kiteable days per week
Personally my year 2019 is less than in 2018 at 3.5 avg with just 3.0
2017 was 4.0
2016 was 4.5...exceptional year of kiteable days
2015 was 4.0
2014 was 4.0
So i'd say 3.5 is usually what I shoot for in a year's time

Happy Year 2020 Mr. Starboard Trickster

Yes, every successive year gets better.

Toby, are you injured? Why so few sessions this year?

Work is a big kite session killer! Or living in non-windy places or places with a short season. My personal record is 60 days/year. Would be great to live somewhere and have the work schedule where kiting is the after work fun. And also workout instead of the gym.
