Phantasm 633 92cm mast 4.2 kg , 800gr heavier than the Moses.
Interesting. My 633 setup, which is the original Slingshot hoverglide alu mast 35.4" + Foilmount adapter + custom "Stringy 743" fuse + 633 FW + 450 stab = 4400g (kitchen scales).

If I had the standard Moses 91cm carbon mast, my 633 setup would weigh about 3200g. Mind you, my Stringy fuse is about 250g lighter than the standard 710 fuse.

Moses front wings are quite light, if not somewhat delicate: my 633 is only 30-40g heavier than my 683S, despite being significantly larger. Not an issue as long as you don't drive it into shells, sand, reefs.

The old hoverglide fuse was ridiculously heavy and added a ton of discomfort at the end of the 35.4" mast (at least, out of the water). It was fine once in the water.

I imagine the new Slingshot system, not dissimilar to the old system, has to cater for several disciplines so it is really built for the tougher applications like windsurf, massive wingding wings... hence the sturdier construction and increased weight.

It's definitely a consideration when buying into a system.

Moses 633/749/483 4.8 lbs (first series, didn’t float on the side)

Slingshot 633/749/483 4.0 lbs
Slingshot 91cm mast 3.3 lbs
7.3 lbs = 3.3 kg

I will try to avoid all floating wings in the future. I hate dragging back to my board in the winter. Much prefer the “auto-return” of a sinker.

2 lbs extra weight on new 633 set won’t let it float on the side

Moses 633 wings are not delicate I hit a rock shoal part of and pier at about 30 km/h I bent the 3 stainless screw holding the wing but the wing only had a few small cracks that were easy to fix. I repaired it and I am still riding it. I have seen other wings shear off completely in lesser impacts.

I can confirm that,
my buddy ran at full speed into a bank, :nono: thought he had destroyed his moses kit as the sound was of impact was so bad, but only bent the stainless wing mounting screws, wow! that was some impact to bend them, everything else was fine, did it slow him down? no.
and i find it better that the wing floats on its side, as when I use my other wing set that sinks it is scary when it drifts downwind into my kite lines after a kite down situation, better to body drag upwind a little than that happen.

Yeah, delicate is probably not quite the right word.

I’ve repaired a number of chips from impacts, bit annoying but no big deal. Certainly no significant damage from pretty solid ramming into the bottom. btw. I try to avoid bottoming out at all times, but sometimes it happens, usually when I least expect it.

The old hoverglide wing from G10 was effectively indestructible though, so that is my reference point I suppose.. !!
