Tef gel, cooper slip, silicone for bolts

Hi guys, got a gong surf foil m finally.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between tef gel, copper slip, silicone grease and PTFE paste?

Can you leave t gel bolts on for a long time with the foil together or always disassemble every time?

Tel gel looks the best, would others work or bind quickly?

Tef-gel is very sticky with a high adhesion to surface which makes it work very well. Protective film it creates is hard to remove. Tef-gel is PITA if you disassemble parts often because of that stickiness. Other grease works fine as long as it is non-conductive and contact surfaces are well covered, but it does not adhere as well and can be washed away. Depending how often you need to take your foil apart you may choose one over the other. I use Tef-gel because my foils stay assembled for about 6 moths between my travels and I ride in sea water almost 100%. I don't even re-apply Tef-gel every time after disassembly, although I'd recommended it. No problem after about 3 years of use

I use Lanocote. Seems to work jsut as well as Tef-gel for preventing corrosion, but is more affordable and less messy.

I used Tefgel and disassembled and washed each session. I guess I’m paranoid, and eventually sold my alloy foil. But although Tefgel is super sticky, I kept all the bolts in a small plastic bag, and never got Tefgel where it wasn’t supposed to be.

i use tefgel and often go 6 months plus without taking apart, I don't rinse either and no issues yet

I have seen some people using ptfe tape to foil threads. It looks pretty sure threads can't rust/weld together if there is a tape between.

I will second tefgel not needing to be taken apart but once every 3-6 months. Froze a bolt on a slingshot hoverglide a long time ago using some kind of anti-seize silver paste. Now I use a light smear of tefgel and every month or so I check that the bolts move and haven't had a problem.

Just do not get on surfaces where not wanted!
If lightly but well covered applied to both threads AFTER having cleaned WELL with alcohol pure, using provided brush, should last a season.
Seems expensive BUT goes a long way as not a lot need to be effective.

Tefgel factors in the electrical isolation that reduces the current flow that causes corrosion.
Some others anti seize compounds don’t have this electrical isolation and some can promote it.
