Thinking of purchasing an Armstrong foil

Currently I’m using an old LF and it is time to upgrade.

I intend on teaching my kids to foil. As teenagers their imagination is in short supply. The concept of risk and mitigation of threats is very low. In other words I’m thinking a foil with rounded edges, light weight and low stall speed should be a benefit. Personally, I would like to upgrade to higher performance and lighter weight.

The Armstrong gets good reviews and seems to be fairly resistant to damage and corrosion.

I could go for a less pricey option eg aluminum Onda. Any thoughts? Also I’m curious if anyone can comment on the speed range expected from the 1200 or hs1050 compared to the Moses 633.

Cheers.

To me Armstrong is the best foil I’ve ever ridden, better than the Moses. Moses 633 is faster thou.

Armstrong is all about the carve but the 1200 goes really fast for its size, probably faster than your old LF, but with more lift if that makes any sense. It’s not a really front foot lift kind of foil, you just have to ride it....

Moses I’ve gone faster than I felt comfortable and I felt if I crashed at that speed it would hurt. Armstrong have not gone that fast.

But if you want to go fast get another foil.

Finally nothing compares to an Armstrong in the waves, nothing.

Even the 800 Armstrong is better than the Moses 633 in the waves

Never heard a complaint about Armstrong.
So I think you can't go wrong with them.
All the best have fun

If you have LF, upgrade to Impuls wing, grate stable wing, other LF (rocket, thruster, have them to) are crap in comparison.
