Lift surf 200 vs moses 633

I'm looking to get a slower foil and am considering getting the Moses 633/710/483. To save some dough and simplify my life, I thought of just getting a Lift 200 surf foil V2 instead (already have the mast). They both would be pretty easy to travel with. the wing areas seem similar but that's just one part of the ride characteristic....

Has anybody kited both? Opinions on difference between the two? I'm looking for people who have actually ridden both, not opinions on one or the other please.

Thanks!

Jos

Though almost identical by area, the Moses is solid design with expansion options and history of success. 633 is probably most sold kitefoil wing. Lift on the other hand is quite isolated design with stories “water got inside my carbon mast” and as former owner of MHL Lift setup I can attest that their fuselage engineers knew nothing about not machining through glass fiber (you gotta lay glass fiber around obstructions). Guess where it cracked?

I haven't ridden the new Lift Surf foils but I ride their 170 Classic foil and find it to be a great kitesurf foil. Their newer Surf foils are much thicker and reportedly have more lift than the Classic foils. Therefore, for kitesurfing, you would want to go down in size on the Lift Surf foils (probably 150 Surf). The 200 Surf would likely have way too much lift for kitesurfing since it was designed for prone surfing.

Also, anyone still making negative comments about Lift's mast/strut's obviously hasn't seen or ridden their current masts. Their current masts are beautiful carbon fiber, perfectly stiff, light, durable and seem to be of much higher quality than their older black fiberglass masts. Lift's current foil product range is awesome for surf and free ride conditions. I have no affiliation, just a very satisfied customer who can't imagine anything better.

Greg Drexler from Board Riding Maui is one of the more inspiring foilers out there. He rides the Lift 200 with one of the smaller stabs.

I second the sentiment that Lift are underrated and the quality of their current construction excellent. They've been making carbon foils for over a decade now and have it figured out. I'm really happy with the classic 170. I ride strapless, but jump it all the time and have had no issues. Pulled it out for a Covid boredom detailed inspection of every nook and transition just yesterday and it looks like new.

The water in mast issues are old news and not a current concern. Their wings ride well and are EXTREMELY durable. Very nice, light system with lots of options. Their masts ride fine but have some flex, as do most carbon masts.

I'm in the same boat. Looking at getting either the Moses 91/633 or the Lift 36" + 150 or 170. Also curious about the liquid force glider, as it comes standard with a 1 bolt QR, which could be great for simplifying and speeding up setup.

Another foil brand that I'm looking at is MFC/Hydrofoil Company, but it has a pretty confusing product lineup given it's fairly non-descriptive product names and modular approach.

If you're looking for an all round surf foil it's hard to go past the Moses 633 front wing. Apart from being an excellent wing, there are a whole range of Moses stabilisers you can use with it to give different performance characteristics. There are also a good range of masts available of different lengths and stiffnesses.

If you want to go bigger or smaller with the front wing there a large range of choices which fit on the surf fuselage.
