Try the 720 with the 330.....you can grind it extremely hard into turns at speed and it doesn't budge whereas the 683 and 633 would fly out of the water under pressure...just my experience anyways.....

Anyone try the 720 with the 450???

I use the 720 with 425 (no shims). Strangely I need to poison the mast 10mm further back with the 720 vs the 633. My top speed for the 720 is just a little over 31.5knots whereas the 633 is 26.5.

Some search on youtube and I found this:

Always interesting with actual video of people trying to push the gear.(not me in the video)

I think after 12 months now I have got through most of the moses wing range, expensive fun but now all ended with the conclusion that the 633/483/ on the 710 fuse with .5deg of shim on the back hole of the stab works brilliantly for me,and certainly gives me the smile factor more than anything else.
that's in all conditions, 9.5cm of gap between the rear of the board and mast base, both foot straps used 100% time,
Hi Foil,
Interesting info and I'm jealous you have had the opportunity to test so many Moses wings!

Regarding shimming, when you say .5deg, what exactly do you mean by this? What does that translate to in terms of thickness of the shim on the rear bolt?

I will set up my digital angle device to show you this morning.
you need just two tools to take away the mystery of the wings working angles, and to understand the tiny amounts needed to make a big difference.
but for now these are the two tools needed, one most guys own already

When I’ve played around with shims in the past I just got my daughter, who is great with Pythagoras, to calculate the angle. As foil writes a wedge of 0.5mm is significant, I tried 0.25 yo to 2.0 degrees. However, my conclusion with Moses foils is don’t shim them as there is always a trade off (normally in top end speed). A better solution is to move the mast or choose a different stabiliser.

did you ever try 633 with 425? Looks like a possible good combo

Ok

Firstly cut/grind a V type cut into the caliper grip edge as below, the front one bigger than at the rear

Image

Use a piece of plywood to create a base for screwing down the full wingset

Image

Screw in down to keep it from moving and place on a flat surface

Image[/URL]

Cut out some shim shapes from a thin plastic lid, these are cut from a small butter tub lid with the hole made by heating up a screwdriver end and melting the hole as you can see
Image

Place the wixey on the caliper as shown the wixey base has strong magnets to hold it still, then using the V cuts place the front wing edges between the caliper legs, close the V cuts in tight, lock off, and zero the wixey
Image
In
Move the caliper over to the rear wing and measure the factory set angle, in this case 1.3deg

Image

Place one shim under the rear screw and note the information for one shim

Image

Then record the difference for two shims,, get to the water and try only one shim first.
for me 2 shims was not a great feeling, one worked better than none, but we are looking at very small thin shims here so don't go mad and try thick shims as the difference can make your riding experience a nightmare, start super thin,
And remember what works for one rider might not work for someone else,
on Steve's (Sfolis above) set up, on his shimmed 720, I could not ride it, awfull for me, not too bad for Steve.I had to jump off out in the bay and swap back to my board and Steve sailed around quite happy on his.

No I haven’t. I find the 633/483 very balanced so not sure why to try the 633/425. The reason I use the 720/425 and not 720/483 is that there was far too much lift with the 483, where as the 425 is a good match.
