After reading the other topic about stance ,I’d love to know how to get my feet forward facing like a I’m skiing, do I start to learn whilst on the foil or with the board on the water , what size wing would be best as the balance point is limited & maybe a big wing would have to much lift once you’re in the ski stance .. I love skiing powder so am intrigued by the possibility of replicating this on the water !,

The wing doesnt matter here, anyone will do equally easy....

Just go up foiling, and then slowly move your feet closer and closer together :thumb:

Facing forward stance can be a nice change.
I find myself doing this almost every session.
Maybe easier to start with board on water but with good speed for stability, ones better direction, and move feet into position and lift off.
Once correct fore aft position noted by reference on board becomes easy to do on the fly!
Fun to test the difference between yaw and roll input to turn, and of course the combination, and why not touch and goes as well.

My favorite position, I can keep going on it for hours.

Just slowly slide/skid your feet towards the center of balance. In the beginning it helps to have one foot a bit more in front of the other, at a later stage you’ll be able to ride with your feet next to each other. Once you figure it our, gybes and 360s are going to be a lot of fun!

I found the easiest way to learn was with light winds (10 -12 kts) large Wing and Big Kite for some support.

Thanks for the tips everyone, especially palmbeacher for making a point of putting one foot slightly in font of the other ... increases the balance point whilst learning... obviously!, but hadn’t even thought of it , I like to get the basics sorted in my head before attempting anything and some tips although simple are much appreciated!! Cheers
