Or is your point, at which you would be correct, that as even a really inefficient thing like a wing goes more than sufficiently upwind, and as kitefoil for the majority is not about racing and goes high upwind anyways, it does not matter, and the C Quads might have other advantages which we can benefit from, just like the small Peak4 kites?

A friend of mine had a C-Quad. I remember him launching it beside me from direct downwind, and then he landed on the beach about 25m away and 5 metres from a sea wall. I know that they are quite efficient, but they never made it as a water kite. Have you seen one reliably launched from the sea?
The previous version that Flash used (and probably this one) lies flat on the sea and he can pick it up and fly it. Maybe someone can fly a c-Quad on 5m lines? and just lift it out of the water to launch it?
So it seemed to me that a C-Quad is going to be more practical as a hand held or maybe on very short lines.

Is anyone using a C-Quad on the water?
