I wear this vest over my suit ... & under my harness. I started wearing it when I started foiling. don't even notice I'm wearing it anymore. It has three big pluses: the extra flotation, extra insulation in cold weather, it keeps my waist harness from riding up. Strongly recommend it.

Belts and plastic bags ... no. If your gonna wear something for flotation, shouldn't it be passive safety? Besides, there are legitimate additional reasons outlined above.
I use an Ion vest OVER a wetsuit, but I wear a rashie over it like the Ricmond pic. Mostly because I cant stand the look of the thing.
I like the look of that LF one. Will try to score one of those on closeout from their exit from the kite game.
