I'd agree with @Horst Sergio, interesting but probably just a marketing stunt for now. The key for me is that they never show it actually turning in the sky, maybe it turns just fine but my guess is its dog slow and awkward. I want to see the guy waterstart and the do a gybe, then we'll know if it's really possible.

I really enjoyed the marketing video.

But I have a 5m kite that probably flies better than that anyways so I don't really need it 👍

Swim out easy launch is not trivial.

I think it shows that the potential for a kite-powered yacht is now possible.

Kind of funny that companies working on this 15 years ago never came up with the concept of a super stable wing.

Reel it out on one line (maybe with a bridle) and get steering and sheeting control once you have it up. Who cares if it is slow? The slower the better!

Can't say i have any great urge to try it with my hydrofoil, but for sure the design has some potential.

If it works, great. If it doesn't it will disappear like most other "good" ideas.

I hope it does work. More versatility is always a good thing.

It should be very easy for a manufacturer to add some attachment points and sell a bridle as an accessory. You could experiment with hand held winging and very short line winging and long line winging.

Yesterday we had stupid gusty conditions. The kite foilers would go out, ride powered in the gusts, struggle in the lulls. The wingers just bobbed along through everything. It would be nice to be able to kite-wing-foil and in the event of the kite dropping and staying on the water simply wind up the lines and wing or paddle in.

I see that Bruno Legaignoux is associated with Vantage kites. The history of paragliding and kiting has many cases of things that didn't work at first, but came back later and worked very well. Bruno hasn't had a lot of hits recently, but he did produce the goods in the past with inventions that we needed when we needed them. Maybe he can do something interesting this time around with flat inflatable kites.

Yes, and if still necessary to add something:

With a Hydrofoil you may ride straight with anything starting from a kite of the last century or even an umbrella :D

Doesn't tell you anything about its performance
