I like the creativity! I'd guess that the dihedral shape in the wing will lead to very slow turning when on lines. It will however lead to a lot of roll stability, and maybe some auto-zenith capabilities, so a kite you never drop in the drink (may also be awesome for teaching!)? I wonder if the short lines make it turn fast enough. May be rather nice for foiling, although I couldn't imagine it being fun on a twintip or for waveriding.

The launch looks pretty slick, but I could imagine that the compromise between the wing and kite shape that you would like make it mediocre at both. If it works nicely, probably awesome for kitefoilers on a budget?

PS The wing seems to flutter a lot in the video...

If you think about it, how would that relaunch if you did drop it? Can you launch it any other way? I need to know more!

I think if it ended up upside down relaunch would be almost impossible.

I like creativity too, but what I think here is:

Don't run behind every small stick, manufacturers have thrown for you. Especially when you realise that there is actually no meat on it.

I could imagine a wing / kite hybrid, even with some disadvantages on both sides, could some day be something interesting.

What I see on the video is just putting a wing on a kite bar, after some tinkering of a bridle, which I think is pretty much exchangeable and possible with many existing wings.

When you can relaunch it and you can show relevant riding skill on wing and kite setup aswell and show that it can do powerfull loops on lines ... then you are ready to show off a video.

But as I see nothing of that, it is just a commercial, in the best case to prepare for the future, to say: we have been the first, but for now just too early.

(Acting like that as a small company you may even risk to motivate bigger competitors to overtake the shown small development advance in a few weeks and being on the market before you do.)

I see a major advantage in kitesurf forbidden areas.. you have to use a reel bar with it.. Wingfoil out and then kitefoil further 8)

No reel bar. Just wing out, sit, attache lines and unwind them cleanly into open water. Then huck it.
