I think i'm in the camp of "new guy with an easy to relaunch boxer but can't figure it out for some reason." Maybe its the conditions around the lakes, but when its just barely blowing I have gotten stuck with the kite on the water that won't relaunch until I get a gust of at least 8-9kts. I find that if I can't just pull on a steering line, and try the opposite inside line with steering line trick many times I can't get the dragging tip off the water and I end up with a kite in hot launch position. Any tips? I'm flying an 11m boxer. But if I can keep it in the air, I can foil, that holds true. I just can't always relaunch on the water in between docks while I could be foiling.

btw, if you're around the 70-80kg mark on a bigger surf wing (1200-1500cm^2) you'll be fine with an 11m. I've had so many awesome sessions in really light wind where I was definitely still learning while there were very experienced riders that couldn't keep 3/5 strut kites in the air and ended up floating in to shore to relaunch a bunch of times. you can also take that 11m into better winds around 15kts on shorter lines and still have a blast. I don't have to switch to a 9m until closer to 17-18kts.

Guys around me are trying the ghost from slingshot and are really liking that as well. So far I've mostly seem them take 6-8m out while i would be using a 9m and I haven't tried a ghost in a larger size for lightwind foiling yet.

OK, very clear. so actually, given the fact I'd like to twintip starting from 18knots, I'd be better off purchasing a 10m2 Airush ultra or mono for the 9-10 knots days on 24-27m lines? a 9m airush ultra would be just from 10 knots
given the fact that I'm looking more for low wind, I'm afraid the peak 4 isn't eligable (or would be 8, but I hear it's approx as fast as a 9Lei).
85kg gong pro M foil

If you were to choose in between 9 or 10 airush ultra or gong unik? second hand ultra seems about same price as new gong unik...

what do you think?

If you can get a 10 m2 Ultra, I would do that :thumb:

Got myself a single strut Takoon One Light in 12m for lightwind foiling. Above 10knots I use a 9m wave kite.

I havent tried it yet but since I ride a small wing I hope I get more wind range and dont get over powered easily.

Does it make sense or should I also go for a bigger wing even being lightweight? I am 60kg on a 700sqr cm wing.

dont think you can possibly need anything bigger at your weight.
i ride a 700sq. cm wing with a 12m gong in ~9knots at 90kg...
