A longer board OR dumping the stabilizer would probably stop it going upwind

I have never used a leash and have never surfed on waves but I see a lot of videos of wave foiling with a leash (also the wing foiling is with a leash). I know (and believe) that for kiting is not a good idea to have a leash; might a leash (like the one in wave foiling) be a good option for certain cases like this or in swell foiling in open sea with a small kite and large foil?

i have used a leash only for my big wing setup for over a year. With the combo of weight and design, there is no way the leash is going to make it come for you.

I am kite foiling without straps and downwind when I fall, it is generally me flying in front of the board supported by the kite and the board stays upwind, I think it is just a matter of learning to fall (without leash) the leash can make you learn differently. Can you say a bit about the leash that you are using?

Even if your technic good in falling strapless one time from hundreds can be not successful, so i aware of leash to foil. Better loose foil than get injured or get hard hit. Safety first, foil second:)

It is just a regular Oculus leash connected to the back of the board.

I think the only way to solve this is to add weight to the wing , fuselage or lower part of the mast. I have no idea how to that.
I used a Moses 633 for several years and it floated too. It was a chore. I'm the king of body dragging after 19 years kiting, so it's not that.

Then I bought another foil brand for other reasons, an it was a sinking foil, and as Peter told me, it would be better. Took a few sessions to get used to the foil sinking,no big deal to adjust.
So probably not what you want to hear, but easiest way is to sell it and buy a, most likely cheaper, sinking foil.

I have a Levitaz Cruizer that sinks like a stone but prefer my the moses w633 because is ready to water start, when a fall when carving in 4 seconds I'm riding again and I love it. Don't touch that wing is perfect!
I'm selling Levitaz with a 50% discount if someone is interested.
