This is the X-ray taken of the Moses mast, look closely to see the carbon outline shape which sits outside the alloy metal(bright image) of the reinforcing "plate"
Which is massive and can't be ripped out, it's this that other mast makers fail to get right and many have asked Moses to make Thiers for them and then they can re badge them with their own logos,
One way round this problem has been to make the mast and fuse as one piece, so getting round the problem of reinforcing that high stress area, over the years home builders have many a disaster trying this, as when they fail it looks terminal,
The joint area on the Moses mast is more like a metal to metal joint with a thick covering of carbon to keep it looking great.
But although the strength at that stress point has proven unburstable over the years it is still a tiny bit annoying that the screws try to wiggle free

I agree....the screw loosening is an annoyance but trivial in exchange for a very strong connect point. Only time I have seen this end of a mast break it has been from user error.

the front screw was loosened even with a new column ...
But it is important that the wedge is not worn ...
in those worn, when you rest the fuselage above, the fuselage has a few mm of play.
obviously with tight screws it disappears completely. However, surely the wedge was worn out in an irregular manner.
when you tighten the fuselage and mast, it can happen that the wedge no longer enters the fuselage evenly and changes the angle of attack of the fuselage.

100% !
A mm or two angle of attack change at the fuse/mast joint makes a big difference over 1m mast with respect to center of gravity of the rider. You can end up chasing shims etc and not have to. I always feel with my finger and eyeball from the side to see that the same amount of the "foot" of the wedge is sticking up above the top of the fuse slot. If you throw it on and tighten without attention to this you could end up with a 1mm difference easily front to back.
